Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Coach Ready information stored?
Coach Ready stores its primary information locally on your device. Coach Ready does not require an online account and does not automatically upload coach, team, or athlete information to a developer-operated server.
Your device or operating-system backup settings may separately include app information in a device backup.
How do I create my Coach Ready workspace?
When first opening Coach Ready, select whether the workspace represents:
-
An individual coach
-
An organization
Enter the coach or organization name and complete the initial setup.
A Coach Ready installation currently uses one primary workspace. Its type and display name can be updated through Workspace Settings.
How do I add a team?
Open your Coach Ready workspace and choose the option to add a team.
Enter the team name, sport, and coach name. Athletes can then be added to the team individually or through an approved athlete transfer.
How do I add an athlete?
Open the appropriate team and select the option to add an athlete.
Enter the athlete’s available profile information, such as:
-
Name
-
Jersey number
-
Position
-
Height and weight, if desired
You may also import an athlete transfer created by Athlete Ready or another Coach Ready installation.
How do I manage an athlete’s team membership?
Open the athlete’s settings and select:
Manage Team Memberships
You can review the athlete’s team, membership dates, position, and jersey number.
Coach Ready is designed to keep one athlete identity within one Coach Ready workspace while allowing membership history to be maintained.
How do I create a complete backup?
Open a team or athlete’s settings and go to:
Data & Sharing → Create Complete Backup
A complete backup contains the Coach Ready workspace and its available teams, athletes, and performance history.
Choose a secure location for the backup file. Backup files may contain personal, wellness, sleep, training, reflection, roster, and fitness information. Store them securely and do not share them with anyone you do not trust.
How do I restore a backup?
Open Coach Ready and go to:
Data & Sharing → Restore From Backup
Select a valid Coach Ready backup and carefully review the confirmation information before proceeding.
Coach Ready is designed to add missing records without automatically replacing records with matching identifiers.
We recommend creating a current backup before restoring another backup.
What happens if I delete Coach Ready?
Deleting the app may also delete information stored locally by Coach Ready.
Create a complete backup before deleting or reinstalling the app if you want to preserve your information.
Files previously saved to Files, Messages, email, cloud storage, or another location must be managed separately.
How do I explore Coach Ready with demo data?
Open:
Workspace Settings → Explore Coach Ready → Add 60-Day Demo Team
Demo data creates a fictional Varsity Football team, athletes, and history so you can explore dashboards, trends, workload, reflection, and fitness features.
How do I remove demo data?
Go to:
Workspace Settings → Explore Coach Ready → Delete Demo Team
Removing demo data is designed to delete the team and records created by the demo-data feature while leaving separately entered teams and athletes intact.
Creating a backup before making significant changes is always recommended.
How do I receive information from Athlete Ready?
The athlete should create a transfer using Athlete Ready’s Share With Coach feature and send the transfer file using an available method such as AirDrop, Messages, email, or Files.
In Coach Ready, the file can be opened through the iOS Share menu or imported from:
Workspace Settings → Data & Sharing
Received transfers may also appear in the Athlete Transfers inbox.
Coach Ready validates and previews a transfer before you choose whether to add an athlete, associate it with a recognized athlete, or import new records.
What information may be included in an Athlete Ready transfer?
Depending on the athlete’s available information and sharing choices, a transfer may include:
-
Athlete profile information
-
Readiness entries
-
Wellness questionnaire entries
-
Sleep entries
-
Training and workload records
-
Fitness-testing results
-
Custom fitness metrics
-
Fitness baselines
-
Influence tags
-
Reflections the athlete approved for sharing
Transfer files may contain sensitive personal, wellness, and performance information. They should be handled only by authorized coaches or organizations.
Why does Coach Ready say an athlete is recognized?
Transfers contain identifiers that help Coach Ready recognize information previously associated with the same athlete.
A recognized match helps prevent duplicate athlete profiles and allows later transfers to add missing records to the appropriate athlete.
Always review the displayed athlete name, team, and profile information before completing an import. If the transfer does not belong to the recognized athlete, do not combine the records.
What happens when Coach Ready finds a possible match?
Coach Ready may identify an athlete with similar profile information without treating the athlete as a confirmed match.
Review all available information carefully. Only associate the transfer with an existing athlete when you are confident they represent the same person.
If they are different athletes, add the transferred athlete as a new athlete instead.
What happens when imported information conflicts with existing information?
Coach Ready is designed to preserve existing information and identify conflicts for review.
When available, the conflict-review screen allows you to compare the existing Coach Ready value with the transferred value and decide which value to keep.
Importing a transfer should not be treated as a substitute for verifying the athlete and records.
How do I send information to Athlete Ready?
Open the athlete’s settings and select:
Data & Sharing → Send to Athlete Ready
Coach Ready creates a transfer containing the athlete’s available profile and performance history. Share the file with the athlete through a trusted method.
The athlete can then use Athlete Ready’s Import Athlete Profile feature to review and import the information.
How do I share an athlete with another coach?
Open the athlete’s settings and select:
Data & Sharing → Share Athlete With Another Coach
Send the resulting transfer file to the authorized receiving coach. The receiving coach can open or import the file using Coach Ready and review the athlete identity before adding records.
Sharing creates a copy of the available information. It does not intentionally remove the athlete or original records from the sending Coach Ready installation.
How do I export athlete or team information?
Open the applicable athlete or team settings and select Export Data or Export Team Data.
Coach Ready creates a spreadsheet containing available information. You control where the file is saved and who receives it.
Review exports before sharing them because they may contain sensitive athlete information.
How do I share a dashboard image?
Open the athlete or team settings and select Share Dashboard or Share Team Dashboard.
Coach Ready creates an image of the applicable dashboard and presents the iOS Share menu.
Dashboard images may contain athlete or team performance information. Share them only with appropriate recipients.
Why is a dashboard or trend missing information?
Coach Ready calculates dashboards and trends using available records.
A date or timeframe may appear incomplete when:
-
An athlete has not completed part of the check-in
-
Sleep, wellness, readiness, or workload data is missing
-
Too few records exist for the selected trend period
-
The athlete was not associated with the team during the applicable period
-
A Pro feature is not currently available
Confirm the selected date, team, athlete, and trend period.
Why is a Ready Score different on some days?
The Ready Score uses available readiness, wellness, sleep, and workload information.
Missing components may be omitted and the remaining available components reweighted. Differences can therefore reflect changes in entered information as well as changes in performance or recovery data.
Why are reflection trends missing or incomplete?
Reflection trends require athletes to report influence information.
A written reflection without influence information may not count toward the denominator used for influence frequencies. Some insights also require sufficient reflected days or sufficient records in both halves of the selected timeframe.
Only reflections visible to the coach can be included in Coach Ready calculations.
How do I add or correct a fitness result?
Open the athlete and select Baseline Fitness or the applicable fitness section.
Choose the appropriate metric and review its history. Use the available controls to add, edit, or remove a test result.
Custom metrics can be created for tests that are not included in the standard metric list when that feature is available.
What is Coach Ready Pro?
Coach Ready Pro provides access to eligible advanced features, which may include expanded athlete and team capacity, advanced trends, reflection insights, fitness analysis, workload insights, enhanced exports, and dashboard sharing.
The available features and access status are displayed on the Coach Ready Pro page.
Purchases are processed through Apple.
How do I restore Coach Ready Pro?
Open:
Workspace Settings → Coach Ready Pro → Restore Purchases
Use the same Apple ID that originally purchased Coach Ready Pro.
Restoring a purchase does not restore locally deleted athlete or team information. Athlete and team information must be restored from a separately created Coach Ready backup.
Why are Coach Ready Pro options unavailable?
Confirm that:
-
The device has an active internet connection
-
You are signed in to the App Store
-
In-App Purchases are permitted on the device
-
Coach Ready is updated
-
Apple’s purchase services are available
Then open the Coach Ready Pro page and select Try Again.
If the purchase was previously completed, select Restore Purchases.
How do I delete all Coach Ready information?
Open:
Workspace Settings → Account & Data → Delete Coach Ready Account & All Data
Review the warning and confirm permanent deletion.
This removes locally stored Coach Ready workspaces, teams, athletes, memberships, readiness, wellness, sleep, workload, reflections, fitness tests, custom metrics, baselines, and received transfer records from the device.
This action cannot be undone unless the information exists in a separate backup.
Previously exported files must be deleted separately. Apple purchase history is managed by Apple and may remain restorable.
Can Next Level Sports Medicine recover locally deleted information?
Generally, no.
Coach Ready does not currently maintain a developer-operated database containing your Coach Ready workspace or athlete records. We therefore generally cannot recover information deleted from your device.
A separately created Coach Ready backup may be used to restore missing information.
